This story is what everything so far has been leading up to. Definitely the world-building but also the tone. Conny started as mostly a parody, but you can only do so much in a parody. I felt if I wanted to tell more serious stories, too, I’d have to establish a more serious tone ahead of this. It’s the whole reason why Vol. 1 ended up twice as long as I had originally planned.
