This reminds me of the story “reaper man” death gets fired and goes working at the only other place where a scythe is useful, a farm. The locals don’t see a walking talking skeleton, they see clothes moving so their brain automatically assumes that there’s a living human being inside. And only a little girl can see him for what he is. Cause kids see what’s there. They don’t care what’s normal, or whats should be there.
