So now the vaccination debate has hit Germany, too. I’ve only known it from English-language Skeptical podcasts so far, and some of the more outlandish claims, like that nonsense about autism, I thankfully still only know from American debates.
I grew up in a time when it was normal to immunize your kids by sending them out to play with sick kids so they’d catch the measles, suffer through and be immune for the rest of their lives. Nowadays, that’s actually illegal because infecting people with diseases is, surprisingly, considered assault. Nope, I don’t spend much time missing the good old days…
